This is not a problem when you have max strength dwellers in a nuclear reactor, because then you get matching power production, but if you don't have max strength dwellers yet I would stick with some power generators. While nuclear reactors provide more production, they also provide a crap tonne of storage, meaning more will get drained during incidents that drain power. Incidents that drain power (most notable mole rats and radscorpions) do so as a percentage of your total power storage. ![]() TL:DR It's pretty much always better to go for the higher tier rooms, people keep the lower tier rooms usually just out of preference or aesthetic design.
